Rick Van Tran DDS
Dr. Rick Tran was originally born in the southern part of Vietnam but was raised in Salinas, California. He received his bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from UCLA in 1999 and shortly thereafter, completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery from New York University. He has been practicing dentistry since 2004. Dr. Rick joined the Manteca practice as of October 2008 as Drs. Cardenas and Richmond were transitioning into retirement.
In addition to routine general and family dentistry, Dr. Rick also provides cosmetic and full mouth restorations, which includes, but not limited to; implants, crowns, bridges, dentures, orthodontics, and bleaching. He is also certified to safely sedate patients who are apprehensive or terrified about seeking dental treatment. He is committed to providing the best dental health care possible and especially loves creating beautiful, lasting smiles.
Dr. Rick is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the San Joaquin Dental Society, the American Association for Orthodontics, and the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation. He is a certified Lumineer and Invisalign dentist as well.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Rick enjoys spending time with family and friends watching sports (especially his favorite basketball team, the Golden State Warriors), traveling to different countries or hanging out. He is fluent in English and Vietnamese, but is constantly striving to perfect Spanish as his third language.

Crystal G – Registered Dental Assistant
Crystal is the one of the two dental assistant as well as the youngest team member in our office. She is a 2004 graduate from East Union High School here in Manteca. Shortly thereafter, she went to Maric College to join the dental assisting program. She obtained her license in April of 2007. Crystal is a highly skilled dental assistant in all areas of dentistry. She has been with our office for 3 years now and counting.
Outside of dentistry, Crystal loves to travel, go outdoors and visit the lake every summer with her husband of almost 2 years. Most importantly, she loves working for our dental office. “It’s such a friendly environment!”
Jennifer D. – Registered Dental Assistant
Jennifer is one of two dental assistants in our office. She graduated from East Union High School and is a 1997 graduate of Andon Dental Assisting School. Jennifer was a stay at home mom for 6 years before deciding to come back to the dental field. She joined our team in 2007, where she finally got her license. She can be counted on to pay close attention to the needs of the people that she serves. It is her goal to offer the best quality service in patient care.
When she is not in the office, you can find Jennifer sewing, at the bike trails, or riding her jetskis or boat when the weather is warm. She finds happiness in spending time with her 9 year old son, Kyle, and her husband, Kevin.
Maria P. - Schedule Coordinator
Maria is the smiling face that greets you each time you come to our office. With over 21 years of front dental office experience, Maria goes above and beyond to help you understand your insurance coverage, payment options, and insurance filing. She is a valuable asset to our office and has been apart of our team for over 3 years.
Maria moved to Manteca in the summer of 2002 with her husband and five children, ranging from 8 years to 17 years old. Outside of her office life, Maria enjoys reading, gardening and being a soccer mom.
Erika A. – Registered Dental Hygienist
Erika graduated from San Joaquin Valley College in May 2007 and was awarded the Hu Friedy Golden Scaler Award. Erika began her dental career in 2002 as a registered dental assistant in a periodontal office. Wanting to further her knowledge in the periodontal field, Erika pursued a degree in Dental Hygiene. Erika joined our team in October 2008 and her cheerful personality can be seen in our office on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Erika finds great satisfaction from seeing out patients leave the office healthy and happy, knowing they received personalized high quality care.
Erika is also a newlywed as of October 2008 and looks forward to her new life in Escalon with her husband and their horses and dogs.
Meghan F. – Registered Dental Hygienist
Meghan graduated from San Joaquin Valley College in September 2008 and was awarded the Hu Friedy Golden Scaler Award. She has been apart of our team since November 2008 and you can be sure to see her smiling face on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays. Meghan is always upbeat, smiling and has a cheerful attitude and she loves helping patients to achieve and maintain their oral health.
In her spare time, Meghan loves to travel to the Coast and have fun with her friends. Being born and raised in Manteca has given her the opportunity to provide excellent service and to take care of the community of Manteca, one smile at a time.
Mary N. – Office Manager
Mary has over 9 years experience in the dental field, having worked as both a dental assistant and receptionist. The experience she gained makes her very knowledgeable in all aspects of the dental business. When it comes to any issues concerning your dental care visit, Mary is the one to speak with to get matters resolved promptly with special consideration for each set of circumstances. She joined our office to ensure that you receive the personal attention and care you certainly deserve.
Mary graduated from De Anza College in 2005 with two Associate’s degrees in Liberal Arts and Biological Sciences and then transferred to UC Davis where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychiatry in 2007. She enjoys cooking authentic Asian cuisines, folding origami, traveling, and spending time with her two chihuahuas, Nini and Gizmo.
Sylvia C. - Financial Coordinator
Sylvia has been in the dental field since 1990. As a financial coordinator, she is committed to helping patients find the means to afford the smiles patients want and deserve! She joined our family in 2009 and looks forward to meeting with all of our patients.
Sylvia was born and raised in San Jose, CA and moved to Manteca in late 2002 with her husband and 2 children. She enjoys traveling, cooking, and enjoying life.
